Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team topped the Jefferson Rams, 1-0, Wednesday evening at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions improved to 9-5-1, while the Rams fell to 6-8-1.

How it Happened

• Jefferson, which outshot the Lions 11-4 in the first stanza, took the first two shots on goal, but sophomore Dennis Mejia was there to make the stops.
• In the 19^th minute, graduate student Nick Bigilin headed in a corner kick from junior Oscar Magnusson to put Molloy ahead 1-0.
• The home team led 1-0 at the half.
• The Rams outshot the maroon and white 10-1 in the second frame, but Mejia and the Molloy defense kept the visitors off the board.

Top Performances

• Mejia made nine saves to record his second shutout of the year.
• Bigilin netted his fourth goal of 2019.
• Magnusson is tied for second on the team with four assists.
