Sparkill, N.Y. –The Molloy men's soccer team topped the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans, 3-2, Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field. The Lions improved to 5-4-1 overall and 2-2 in ECC play, while the Spartans fell to 0-8-1 overall and 0-4 in league play.

How it Happened

• STAC opened the scoring in the 38^th minute on a goal from Sung Min Cho.
• The Lions evened the score, 1-1, in the 45^th minute. Graduate student Nick Bigilin completed a passing sequence with senior Anthony Cestaro and junior Kenneth Garcia.
• Bigilin put the Lions ahead 2-1 in the 65^th minute with a goal, which was assisted by Cestaro and senior Paul Morales.
• The Spartans knotted the contest, 2-2, after Anthony Sanchez found the back of the net in the 68^th minute.
• Morales scored on a penalty kick in the 78^th minute to give the away team a 3-2 advantage.
• The home looked to tie the match in the 87^th minute, but freshman Sergio Peralta denied Lachlan Wilkinson.

Top Performances

• Bigilin found the back of the net twice and has three goals on the season.
• Morales registered three points (one goal and one assist).
• Cestaro tallied two assists.
• Garcia recorded his first assist as a Lion.
• Peralta made 11 saves to improve to 4-2 on the year.
