Box Score Seaford, N.Y. - The field hockey team returned to action this afternoon, taking on No. 10 Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Lions fell 4-3 after the Skyhawks scored in the final five minutes. Molloy now sits at 1-7 on the season and 1-5 in NE10 play while Stonehill improved to 5-3 (5-1 NE10).
How it Happened
- After eight minutes of play and only two combined shots, the maroon and white got on the board first as junior Olympia Moulton pushed her own rebound past the Stonehill goalkeeper to take a 1-0 lead.
- Freshman Ally Saigh would make nine straight stops in net for the Lions before Mackenzie Quigley put Stonehill on the board, scoring off a rebound following a defensive save from sophomore Riley Wallace.
- The Skyhawks, who were awarded 13 penalty corners in the first half, converted on one as time expired in the opening half to take a 2-1 advantage at the break.
- The visitors added an insurance marker nearly five minutes into the third frame to go up, 3-1.
- In the 41st minute, Moulton fed a pass off a corner to sophmore Jessica Kleber, who beat the goalie right side to bring the Lions within one.
- A defensive breakdown allowed Molloy to knot the score in the 45th minute, as Moulton found the wide open stick of sophomore Kyra Dalli in front of the net.
- On their fourth corner of the fourth quarter, Stonehill's Michaela Antonellis dribbled the ball into the left side of Molloy's net for the game-winner in the 56th minute.
Top Performances
- Moulton scored a career-high three points with one goal and two assists in the effort.
- The Lions fired seven shots on the afternoon, all of which were on target.
- Saigh made a career-high 14 saves in net, consistently keeping Molloy within striking distance of the Skyhawks.

Trish Bonagura. "We played together as a unit and were connecting all over the field. Our mentality going into the season was to get better each practice and each game, and we got better today. We hung with a top-10 opponent and played smart and with a lot of heart and grit."
