Garden City, N.Y.- The field hockey team wrapped up its final road game of the season with an 8-0 loss to Adelphi. The Lions fall to 1-14 overall (0-11 NE10), while the Panthers improve to 10-5 (9-2 NE10).

How it Happened

• Adelphi jumped out to an early lead as Kelly Johnson and Jenna Geels each netted unassisted goals within the first five minutes of play.
• Isabella Zullo extended the Panthers' advantage to 3-0 by converting on a pass from Katie Dettore late in the opening quarter.
• The Lions' defense defended a total of five penalty corners to end the first quarter.
• A deflection in front of the net set Johnson up for her second goal of the evening, pushing Adelphi ahead 4-0.
• The Panthers capitalized on a penalty corner opportunity for its fifth goal of the contest, as Carolina Beakes sent a pass to Lana Mignon de Wet on the left post for a tap-in.
• Junior Kayla Monique Lipscomb recorded five saves through the first half.
• Mignon de Wet struck twice more in the third quarter, stretching Adelphi's lead to 7-0.
• Geels capped the scoring in the final frame to secure an 8-0 victory for the Panthers.
• Lipscomb made a total of 16 saves in goal.
