Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The volleyball team fell in a 3-0 contest against Flagler College this afternoon at Quealy Gymnasium.

How it Happened

• The Lions led, 4-2, in the first set before the Saints fired off six straight points on the serving of Lily Loeffler to take a 9-4 lead. Twice, Molloy would come within two, 17-15 and 24-22, but were unable to overcome the deficit.
• After trailing 9-3 in the second set, the maroon and white fought back to come within two, 10-8, taking advantage of a four-point run of its own. Flagler eventually pulled ahead by as much as 24-16 before sealing the set.
• In the third set, the scoring started back-and-forth, with the Lions maintaining a one-point advantage early. Errors from the home team allowed the Saints to take a five-point lead, 18-13 Molloy was unable to overcome the deficit, hitting just .091 in the final set of the match.

 
Key Performances

• Redshirt junior Carly Banks led the maroon and white with 11 kills, adding three digs.
• Senior Meaghan Carr led the defense with 17 digs, adding two assists.
• Junior Sophia Smith tallied 32 assists in the effort to go with seven digs and two kills.
