Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The volleyball team defeated Nyack College, 3-0, and Le Moyne College, 3-2, in the first of two tri-matches held in Quealy Gymnasium this weekend. With the victories, the Lions improve to 3-0 on the season.

How it Happened
- After trailing by five for most of the match, the Warriors rallied for six straight points to tie Molloy, 19-19, in the first set. The score would become tied on four more occasions before back-to-back kills from junior Devon Hagerstrom and sophomore Kacey Affrunti sealed the set in favor of the Lions, 26-24.
- Molloy played from behind most of the start of the second set, before a kill from redshirt junior Carly Banks put the maroon and white in front, 13-11. Back-to-back kills from Affrunti and junior Hailey Wehr gave the Lions a 21-17 lead before a four-point run ended the set, 25-18 in favor of the home team.
- Nyack led the final set, 16-15, but kills from Affrunti and Hagerstrom, blocks from Hagerstrom and Banks, and a service ace from junior Jessica Fischetti gave Molloy a 19-16 lead. Up 22-19, the Lions fired off the final three points of the contest to earn its second victory of the season

- Hagerstrom matched a career-high 15 kills, hitting at .650 on the performance while adding three blocks and two service aces.
- Affrunti (13) and Banks (10) each reached double-digit kills.
- Fischetti led the squad with 15 digs while junior Sophia Smith tallied 46 assists.

How it Happened
- Molloy pulled ahead to its largest lead of the set, 19-8, following a four-point run on the serving of senior Jeanne Reinis. The Dolphins would come within seven, 20-13, before Molloy earned a 25-16 victory.
- In a back-and-forth second set, the score was tied six times before Le Moyne pulled in front, 10-7. The Lions responded with a four-point run of their own, 13-11 on kills from Banks and Smith and a service ace from Fischetti. The visitors would tie the contest, 16-16, but after gaining a lead following a service ace from Hagerstrom, Molloy would remain in front the remainder of the set.
- Trailing 11-10 in set three, the maroon and white fired off five straight points to take a 15-11 lead. Le Moyne rallied, eventually going on a four-point run of their own for a 22-20 lead. The Dolphins took the third set, 25-22.
- Tied 8-8, the visitors scored four straight points, taking a 12-8 lead. Once in front, the Dolphins maintained control, taking the fourth set 25-23.
- The maroon and white had an explosive start to set five, opening on a 6-0 run before going in front by as much as 11-1. Le Moyne would come within six, 12-6, before Molloy took the set and the game.
Key Performances
- Four Lions reached double-digit kills in Banks (15), Affrunti (13), Hagerstrom (13), and Wehr (10). Banks now sits at 718 career kills.
- Molloy also had four reach double-digit digs, including three 20+ performances: sophomore Brittany Palladino-DesLauriers (21) Reinis (20), and Fischetti (22). Smith added her second double-double of the season with 50 assists and 13 digs.
- Hagerstrom tallied a career-high nine blocks in the effort.
