Brookville, N.Y. – The volleyball team completed the season sweep of LIU Post with a 3-0 victory over the Pioneers at the Pratt Recreation Center. Molloy improved to 18-7 on the campaign and 10-3 in East Coast Conference play headed into the final game of the regular season while LIU Post fell to 18-12 and 8-5 in league play.

How it Happened
- The Lions fell behind, 5-1, to start the contest, but responded with a four-point rally to knot the score.
- The score would be tied six additional times before kills from junior Hailey Wehr and an ace from freshman Nicole Wagner pulled Molloy ahead, 23-19.
- A service error from the Pioneers and a kill from junior Devon Hagerstrom sealed the set.
- LIU Post opened to a 4-0 lead once again in the second set before pulling in front by as much as 8-2.
- A five-point rally from the maroon and white, featuring two aces from senior Meaghan Carr, brought the Lions within one, 13-12.
- Kills from Hagerstrom, junior Sophia Smith, and senior Jeanne Reinis gave the Molloy its first lead of the set, 21-19.
- The Pioneers would tie the contest, 27-27, but the set ended on a kill from sophomore Kacey Affrunti.
- The Lions turned the tables in the third set, opening up to a 4-1 lead. Molloy maintained its advantage, going in front by as much as eight, 19-11.
- LIU Post put together an eight-point rally to tie the game at 22 and then against at 24, but the maroon and white closed out the set and the contest following an attack error by the home team and a kill from redshirt junior Carly Banks.
Top Performances
- Banks led with a match-high 11 kills.
- Smith added her 13th double-double of the season with 28 assists and 16 digs.
- Reinis and junior Jessica Fischetti joined the setter in double-digits with 15 and 27 digs, respectively.
- Wagner tallied three aces while Smith and Carr each added two.
Looking Ahead
Molloy will conclude the regular season tomorrow (Nov. 3) against New York Institute of Technology. Prior to the start of the contest, the team will recognize the three senior members of the team as part of a Senior Day ceremony. Game time is slotted for 7:00 p.m. from Quealy Gymnasium.
