Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team was defeated by the No. 25 Mercy Mavericks, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 2-10 overall and 0-5 in league play. The Mavericks improved to 7-1-1 overall and 4-1 in ECC play.

How it Happened

• Sophomore Nikola Aleksic scored on a header in the 17^th minute to put Molloy ahead 1-0.
• The Mavericks knotted the match on a goal from junior Manuel Achondo in the 19^th minute.
• Junior Maximiliano Robolledo-Camus found the back of the net in the 57^th minute to give Mercy a 2-1 advantage.
• Junior Kevin Rodriguez and freshman Diego Arosemena netted goals in the 63^rd and 74^th minutes to increase the visitor's lead to 4-1.

Top Performances

• Aleksic tallied his second goal of the season.
• Carlos Bonilla tallied his first assist with the Lions. The junior has recorded points in consecutive contests.
• Junior Paul Morales led the team with two shots.
• Senior Raul Bonilla made six saves.

Coach's Comments

• "Today we looked good for 20 minutes, then, let up a penalty kick, and the wheels fell off," head coach Danny Longo said. "It's difficult to understand after the way we played against Adelphi Wednesday."
