Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy men's soccer team was defeated by the Adelphi Panthers, 2-1, Wednesday evening at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions moved to 2-9. The Panthers improved to 7-3-1.

How it Happened

• Adelphi opened the scoring in the 17^th minute on a goal from freshman Paolo Marciano.
• Marciano netted his second goal of the contest to put the Panthers ahead 2-0 in the 72^nd minute.
• Junior Carlos Bonilla found the back of the net in the 78^th minute to the cut the away team's advantage to 2-1.
• Down a goal, Bonilla sent two chances wide in the 81^st and 86^th minutes, respectively.

 
Top Performances

• Bonilla netted his first goal with the maroon and white. The Brentwood, N.Y. native led Molloy with five shots.
• Senior Angelo Bordenca recorded two shots.
• Senior Raul Bonilla made six saves.

Coach's Comments

• " I thought we played toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the region," head coach Danny Longo said. " We came up short once again."

• The Lions continue ECC play against Mercy Saturday, October 6. The match with the Mavericks is scheduled to begin at noon.
