Amherst, N.Y. – The volleyball team fell, 3-0, to the top-seeded Wildcats of Daemen College this afternoon from Lumsden Gymnasium. The Lions sit at 17-7 and 9-3 in East Coast Conference play while Daemen improved to 17-10, 11-1 ECC with the victory. Despite the loss, the maroon and white secured a spot in the 2018 ECC Tournament following a loss by Mercy College.

How it Happened
- The Wildcats got in front, 11-6, before the maroon and white battled back to within two, 11-9 on kills from juniors Hailey Wehr and Sophia Smith and a service ace from senior Meaghan Carr.
- Daemen, however, responded with five-straight points to take a 16-9 lead. Molloy would once again come within two, 23-21, but back-to-back kills gave the home team the early advantage.
- The Wildcats took advantage of Molloy struggling to score consecutive points in the second set. The Lions managed three-straight points to come within two late in the set, 20-18, but were unable to overcome the deficit.
- Daemen had a thunderous start to the third set, pulling out to a 7-1 lead. The maroon and white battled back to within four, 21-17, but the home team maintained its lead the entirety of the third set for the victory.
