ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - Molloy (2-7) begins play in the Lynn Invitational Friday (Mar.10) against Bloomfield College. The game is the first in a five-game stretch in Florida. The Lions split a two-game series with Merrimack College last weekend (Mar.4-5). The Maroon and white lost game one, 12-5, and won game two, 8-2. In game two, sophomore Anthony Catinella (Middle Village, N.Y.) pitched seven innings, gave up two runs on four hits, and struck out seven batters to record his first victory of the season. Senior Brian Murphy (Elmont, N.Y.), senior Kevin Podell (Wantagh, N.Y.), redshirt senior Michael Rahn (Sayville, N.Y.), senior Ryan Dillon (Medford, N.Y.), senior Austin Nieves (Glendale, N.Y.), and freshman Matthew Imbrogno (Wantagh, N.Y.) all recorded a RBI. Redshirt junior Bobby Kelly (Mineola, N.Y.) allowed one hit and struck out two batters, in two innings of work, to pick up his first save of the season.

Bloomfield enters the game with a 3-3 overall record. The Bears scored four straight runs to defeat Stone Hill, 4-2, Wednesday (Mar. 8). Catcher Christopher Morillo (Teaneck, N.J.) drove in a team-high two runs. Freshman Chris Camillo (Lyndhurst, N.J.) threw three innings, gave up no runs on three hits, and struck out three batters in the win.

The Lions defeated the Bears twice last season. Molloy won the first meeting, 9-1 (Mar.11), and the second meeting 9-5 (Mar.29).
