Rockville Centre, N.Y. (Oct. 7, 2017) – The Molloy men's soccer team fell to the NYIT Bears, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at John A. Darcy Field. The Lions move to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in ECC play.
NYIT (6-5-1, 3-2 ECC) netted two goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. The Bears opened the scoring in the second minute on a goal from John Camponeschi. The road team then increased its lead to 2-0 on a tally from Martin Sundell.
Molloy, which was outshot 7-5 in the first half, generated a few chances to shrink NYIT's lead but entered the half down two goals.
In the second half, the Lions, led by four shots from junior
Daniel Massey (Warrington, England) and three shots from senior
Adam Carnwath (Fleet, England), worked the ball into the offensive-third but failed to find the back of the net.
Camponeschi scored his second goal of the match to make it 3-0 in the 83
rd minute.

Raul Bonilla (Brentwood, N.Y.) made eight saves in the loss.
The Lions return to action Saturday, Oct. 14, when they take on Mercy. Kickoff with the Mavericks is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
