New Haven, Conn. (Oct. 4, 2017) – Junior
Daniel Massey (Warrington, England) netted three goals, including the game-winner five minutes into overtime, leading the Molloy men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over the New Haven Chargers Wednesday afternoon at Kayo Field. The Lions improve to 4-7 with the win.
New Haven (2-8) opened the scoring in the 12
th minute on a goal from Nate Peduzzi. The Chargers added to their lead six minutes later when Pablo Perez found the back of the net to make it 2-0.
The Lions, who were outshot 9-8 in the first half, couldn't score on their opportunities and went into the break trailing 2-0.
The Molloy offense, which outshot the home team 16-4 in the second stanza, took control in the final 45 minutes. Massey scored his first goal, off an assist from sophomore
Paul Morales (Jackson Heights, N.Y.), in the 63
rd minute.
Massey, who registered a game-high eight shots, evened the score, 2-2, in the 81
st minute after he put a pass from Morales past the keeper.
The junior completed the hat trick in overtime leading the maroon and white to victory.

Raul Bonilla (Brentwood, N.Y.) made two stops in the win.
The Lions return home Saturday, Oct. 7, when they host ECC-foe NYIT. Kickoff with the Bears is slated for 3:00 p.m.
