Brookville, N.Y. (Oct. 2, 2017) – The Molloy men's soccer team was defeated by No. 7 LIU Pioneers, 2-1, Monday afternoon at Pioneer Soccer Park. The Lions move to 3-7 overall and 2-2 in ECC play. Junior

The Lions struck first in the 7
th minute after Massey fired a pass from sophomore
Anthony Cestaro (Massapequa, N.Y.) into the net.
LIU Post (8-0-1, 3-0 ECC) answered on a goal from Vittorio Argeri in the 13
th minute.
The teams traded chances and ended the half with nine shots apiece.
The Pioneers, who outshot the Lions 10-3 in the second half, broke the tie with a tally from Charlie Ledula in the 78
th minute.
Molloy, which was led by five shots from Massey and two shots apiece from Cestaro and freshman
Conor Rowbottom (Chester, England), made a push to tie the score but couldn't net the equalizer.
Junior keeper
Raul Bonilla (Brentwood, N.Y.) made six saves in the losing effort.
The Lions return to action Wednesday, Oct. 4, when they travel to New Haven. Kickoff with the Chargers is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
