The maroon and white took a 14-7 lead in the opening set before NYIT rallied to bring the contest within three, 16-13. On serving from sophomore Devon Hagerstrom (Bethpage, N.Y.) Molloy propelled to a six-point run to open up the set to 22-13. A kill from freshman Kacey Affrunti (Levittown, N.Y.) once again knotted the score in the third set, 22-22. Molloy pushed ahead following a kill from Banks before a critical attack error by the Bears' put the maroon and white at match point. Banks found an open spot on the floor to record her 10th kill of the game and seal the sweep for the Lions.

The team was led by three from Hagerstrom while senior Meaghan Carr (Mineola, N.Y.), senior Dakota O'Neill (Long Beach, N.Y.), and freshman Emily Meyer (Seaford, N.Y.) each added two. Carr set a career high 17 digs while also chipping in an assist.
