Carly Banks (Camas, Wash.), the Molloy volleyball team rebounded from yesterday's loss to sweep the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College, 3-0.
The Lions now improve to 16-4 on the season and 5-2 in East Coast Conference play, tying Molloy with New York Institute of Technology for second-place.

In a back-and-forth opening set, the teams found themselves tied on eight occasions. Molloy fell behind, 8-5, early in the set before rallying to take a 21-11 lead. Kills from Banks and freshman

Dakota O'Neill (Long Beach, N.Y.) put the Lions up 24-18 before an attack error from the Redhawks sealed the set in favor of the visitors, 25-20.
Strong service from sophomore
Sophia Smith (Georgetown, Texas) propelled the maroon and white to a seven-point run in the second set to put the team in front 21-11. Affrunti ended the set with a kill from Smith, giving Molloy a 2-0 lead. Two separate five-point runs in the final set helped push the Lions to a 25-22 lead.

Molloy returns to Quealy Gymnasium on Tuesday (Oct. 17) to face off against New York Institute of Technology in crucial ECC play. The contest is set to begin at 6:00 p.m.
