ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2016) - Heading into the last weekend of the regular season for the Molloy College basketball programs, both teams are still gunning for play-off position. Friday (Feb. 26) will mark not only a "Maroon-Out" game in which the teams will wear maroon uniforms (as the spectators are encouraged to do the same), but it could also be a postseason clincher for the women's basketball team when the Lions welcome in Daemen College.
Playoff ScenariosThe full list of scenarios for both men's and women's basketball teams is covered in-depth on the
Molloy Athletics webpage, but the basic tenants are the following. For the women, win and in. For the men, win out and get some help to make the playoffs.
Last Time Out Vs. DaemenThe Wildcats won both contests held back on Jan. 22 in Amherst at Lumsden Gymnasium. In the women's game, Daemen won 87-68 despite a game-high 23 points from
Ally Leftridge (Melville, N.Y.) for the Lions. In the men's game, an 81-64 win for Daemen as well, junior guard
Charlie Marquardt (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) had 24 points to lead the Lions.
