John Petrucelli Lands in Slovakia for Professional Career

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Jan. 29, 2015) - Molloy College men's basketball all-time scoring leader and exceptional alumnus John Petrucelli (Hicksville, N.Y.) has signed with BK Iskra Svit -- a team that plays in the top professional basketball league in Slovakia. In his professional debut, he posted a stellar outing -- 16 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals -- to help his team to a victory.

"John Petrucelli, since graduation, has continued to work tirelessly on his game," Molloy Head Coach Charles Marquardt said. "He will be a solid addition to BK Iskra Svit. We look forward to watching his success grow in Slovakia.

This is from the Eurobasket Data Center:
BK Iskra Svit (SBL) agreed to terms with 23-year old American forward John Petrucelli (college: Molloy). In the last season Petrucelli played at Molloy College in East Coast Conference (NCAA Division II), he started in 30 games with very impressive stats: 23.1 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 3.0 apg. He helped the Lions to the conference semi-finals round of the playoffs. He was voted All-ECC Player of the Year, named to the All-ECC First Team and named to Daktronics NCAA D2 All-East Region Second Team. Last year, Petrucelli was drafted by the Bakersfield Jam (NBA D-League) in the eighth round (119th pick overall). Petrucelli attended Molloy College (NCAA Division II) until 2014. This is his first season in pro basketball."
