Regarding Molloy:
  • The Lions enter the week 10-13 overall and 4-8 in East Coast Conference play.
  • Molloy went 1-1 last week, defeating Dominican, 66-60, Monday, February 12, but fell to Roberts Wesleyan, 75-58, Sunday, February 18.
  • Against the Chargers, junior Samantha Muller paced the Lions with a team-high 17 points while collecting seven rebounds and swiping two steals, graduate student Isabel Sanchez tallied 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists, and junior Janel Moore rounded out the top scorers collecting 14 points, four assists, and a game-high four steals.
  • As a team, the cardinal and white rank in the top 20 in multiple categories, coming in at eighth in blocks per game (5.2), 19th in rebounds per game (42.35), and rank 33rd in defensive field goal percentage (36.1).
St. Thomas Aquinas:
  • The Spartans come into the week 15-10 overall and 9-4 in conference play.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas went 1-1 last week in their Western New York road trip, falling to Daemen, 68-64, Friday, February 16, but defeating D'Youville, 64-49, Sunday, February 18.
  • Reigning ECC Player of the Year Sarah Ericson leads the team ranking in the top five in several categories in the conference: points per game (16.8, 2nd), rebounds per game (8.1, 5th), field goal percentage (.437, 1st), and free throw percentage (.857, 2nd).
  • The Lions fell to the Spartans, 59-51, earlier this season January 31, 2024.
  • Molloy is 25-33 all-time against St. Thomas Aquinas.
Mercy:
  • The Mavericks, winners of their last six, hold a 16-8 overall record and are 9-4 in league play.
  • Mercy went 2-0 last week, defeating D'Youville, 70-65, Friday, February 16 and Daemen, 50-44, Sunday, February 18.
  • The team has three members averaging over 10 points per game: Katie Wall (16.7, third in the conference), Jaclyn Stanavich (15.6, fifth in the conference) and Angelina Barrera (10.6).
  • The Lions played the Mavericks earlier this month, falling, 73-47, in Dobbs Ferry February 3, 2024.
  • Molloy is 58-22 all-time against Mercy,

About the Lions:
  • Molloy holds a 6-17 overall record and are 4-8 in East Coast Conference competition.
  • The Lions went 0-1 last week, falling to Roberts Wesleyan, 92-82, Sunday, February 18.
  • Freshman Rob Matos is second in the conference and leads all freshman in the nation averaging 19.4 points per game.
St. Thomas Aquinas:

  • St. Thomas Aquinas went 1-1 last week, falling to Daemen, 87-82, Friday, February 16, but responded to defeat D'Youville, 101-86, Sunday, February 18.
  • James Patterson leads the team averaging 24.2 points per game to lead the conference while shooting 45 percent from the field.
  • The Lions and Spartans met in Rockville Centre earlier this season, with the road team triumphing, 99-74, January 31, 2024.
  • Molloy is 17-38 all-time against St. Thomas Aquinas.
Mercy:
  • The Mavericks come into the week 1-22 overall and 0-13 in league play.
  • Mercy went 0-2 last week, falling to D'Youville, 96-76, Friday, February 16 and Daemen, 123-75, Sunday, February 18.
  • Jayden Dewaal paces the squad averaging 15.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. The forward ranks fifth in the conference in points per game, first in rebounds per game, and is second in field goal percentage (.527).
  • The Lions played the Mavericks earlier this month, triumphing, 79-66, in Dobbs Ferry February 3, 2024.
  • Molloy is 43-21 all-time against Mercy.

Scouting Molloy:
  • The Lions enter the contest 1-1 on the campaign.
  • Molloy picked up its first win of the season last week, defeating Southern New Hampshire, 11-10, in double overtime.
  • In the victory, senior Chris Delaney picked up six points (four goals and two assists), junior Tommy Corcoron tallied three points (one goal and two assists), sophomore Justin Palulis netted a hat trick, and senior Mikey Rodin found the back of the net for the game winning goal.
Saint Anselm:
  • The Hawks will kick off its 2024 against the Lions while being ranked sixth in the country.
  • Saint Anselm went 10-5 overall last season, holding a 7-3 record in the Northeast-10, and made a run to the NCAA Quarterfinals where they would fall to Mercyhurst, 10-9.

About the Lions:
  • Molloy started the campaign with a 3-0 showing at the Morehead City Challenge at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City, North Carolina.
  • The Lions picked up a pair of 6-3 victories over Felician Friday, February 16 and sixth-ranked Millersville Saturday, February 17 before topping Assumption, 26-12, Sunday, February 18 to close the weekend.
  • Against Felician, senior Anthony Manisero knocked in two runs, junior Nicholas Dagenllo collected two hits and two runs, and senior Aidan Larkin, senior Chris Giardino, and sophomore Jack Coogan collected an RBI each.
  • Graduate student Charlie Cucchiara tossed seven innings allowing two runs on five hits to pick up the victory.
  • In the win over Millersville, Manisero picked up two more RBI and Larkin drove in a run while junior JJ DeVito collected two hits, two runs, and an RBI.
  • Graduate student Robert Lucano picked up the win throwing five innings allowing 5 hits and one run.
  • Against Assumption, the Lions collected 22 hits, paced by Manisero who collected four of them and drove in a career-high six runs.
Bridgeport:
  • The Purple Knights will begin the 2024 season against the Lions in Myrtle Beach.
  • Bridgeport went 9-38 overall last season and 5-20 in CACC play.
  • A former ECC foe, Molloy is 54-31 all-time against Bridgeport. 
Chestnut Hill:
  • The Griffins will also begin the 2024 season in Myrtle Beach.
  • Chestnut Hill went 18-27 overall last season and 12-12 in CACC play.
  • Molloy is 4-2 all-time against Chestnut Hill and will meet for the first time since 2016 in Myrtle Beach.
Southern New Hampshire:
  • The Penmen began its season February 2 – February 4, playing three games at the Houston Winter Invitational at Minute Maid Park.
  • Southern New Hampshire went 0-3 on the trip against some of the nation's top teams. Falling to St. Cloud State, 21-11, Friday, February 2, fifth-ranked Central Missouri, 5-4, Saturday, February 3, and Arkansas Tech, 7-4, Sunday, February 4.
  • Molloy is 12-11 all-time against Southern New Hampshire.
