Gassert joined the women's volleyball coaching staff ahead of the 2024 season. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach for the 2025 campaign.
Gassert has spent the past seven years coaching with Sportime Volleyball Club, primarily on the boys' side. He worked with the 14U-18U age group, including securing the first bid to USAV Nationals in the program's history. In addition to his coaching duties, Gassert has worked in the administration side of the organization and currently serves as the Director of Youth Development. In his role, Gassert is responsible for the management of youth development programs including training curricula as well as creating tournament schedules.
Gassert attended SUNY New Paltz and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history. He was a member of the men's swim team and served as the team captain.Â
