Tyler Botte was named the fifth coach in the history of Molloy's men's soccer program ahead of the 2020 season, before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Botte is no stranger to the Lions' program, spending six seasons as an assistant under head coach Danny Longo, being promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2019. In his time with the maroon and white, Botte has helped guide the team to three East Coast Conference postseason appearances, including making the Championship Game in 2016.
In his time with the Lions, Botte has seen three seasons of at least 10 wins including ending the season regionally ranked by the United Soccer Coaches in both 2016 and 2019. Botte was also a member of the ECC Coaching Staff of the Year following the 2016 postseason appearance.
The North Babylon, N.Y. native played soccer at Hofstra before coming to Molloy. With the Pride, he netted 12 goals and tallied six assists in 67 matches, advancing to the Colonial Athletic Association final in both 2010 and 2012. Botte, who was a team captain, earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors in 2013 and a NCAA Second Team All-American selection in 2012. Off the field, he was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Botte has coached at the Village of the Branch Soccer Club, North Babylon Soccer Club, and the Roslyn Soccer Club and holds a United States Soccer Federation coaching license.
