Women's Lacrosse Downed at #13 Adelphi

Garden City, N.Y,- The women's lacrosse team dropped a 20-3 decision to #13 Adelphi in a local Long Island match up this evening. With the loss, the Lions move to 4-8 on the season, while the Panthers improve to 8-4.

How it Happened
  • Adelphi struck first with an early goal from Marielle Colalillo. Rita Sefransky followed, extending the lead just three minutes later.
  • The Panthers added another with 5:30 remaining in the first quarter to take a 3-0 advantage.
  • Sophomore Ava Benasutti got Molloy on the board two minutes later, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
  • Sefransky netted her second goal of the game to close out the opening frame with Adelphi ahead 4-1.
  • The Panthers' offense exploded in the second quarter, scoring eight unanswered goals.
  • Freshman Peyton Naus stopped the run with a free position goal, making it 12-2.
  • Ashley Kolomechuk added a late goal for Adelphi to send the game into halftime at 13-2.
