Ingenito Scores Twice in Women's Soccer's First Win of 2025

Wilmington, Del. - The women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2025 campaign with a 3-0 shutout at Goldey-Beacom this afternoon from NCS Field. The win brings Molloy to 1-2-1 on the season while the Lightning sit at 0-3.

How it Happened
  •  The first chance of the contest went to sophomore Jana Strait in the fourth minute, but her attempt was blocked.
  • The Lightning's opportunity came less than two minutes later, but junior Elyse Munoz was able to make the save on Lexy Yeager.
  • Senior Olivia Ingenito broke through in the 24th minute with her first goal of the campaign to put Molloy on the board.
  • Sophomore Bella Juliano would double the Lions' lead just eight minutes later with her first goal of the season.
  • Goldey-Beacom would take four shots in the next seven minutes, but two went off target, one was blocked, and one was saved by Munoz to keep the shutout into the second half. 
  • Lightning goalkeeper Malaika Nunziata made two saves to start the second half before Ingenito found the back of the net for the second time in the contest in the 62nd minute, this time off a pass from junior Isabella Muro
  • Munoz was forced to make just one save in the second stanza to earn her second shutout of the season.
Top Performances
  • Ingenito netted two goals for the Lions with Juliano adding one.
  • Muro picked up her first point of 2025 with the assist in the second half
  • Srait fired three shots, two of which were on goal.
  • Munoz made a total of three saves in the match.

Molloy will return to the RVC Sports Complex on Wednesday (Sept. 17) to take on Franklin Pierce University at 4:00 p.m.
