After nearly 20 years as the Director of Athletics and Head Softball Coach at Molloy, Susan Cassidy-Lyke announced that she would be stepping down from both roles to become the Head Softball Coach at Hofstra University.

"Molloy holds a special place in my heart after years as a student-athlete and decades as both a coach and administrator and I am beyond grateful for the experiences and relationships that I've had here," said Cassidy-Lyke. "While I am looking forward to a new challenge, I will continue to treasure all the people and students I have met over the past 20 years as Director of Athletics. I am proud of the accomplishments Molloy has achieved and look forward to more of them in the future. I will always consider Molloy my family."
 
In her prestigious career with the Lions, Cassidy-Lyke was responsible for overseeing the unprecedented growth and success of the Department of Athletics. The department saw the addition of nine programs under her leadership including men's and women's track and field, women's bowling, men's and women's rugby, field hockey, and sprint football. Molloy has won 25 conference championships, four NCAA Regional Championships, appeared in 31 NCAA Tournaments and won two East Coast Conference Commissioner's Cups. A testament to her commitment to Molloy, the Department of Athletics has grown exponentially in size both in staffing and student-athletes and will welcome the largest freshman class in its history in the Fall of 2025.

In addition to her duties as Director of Athletics, Cassidy-Lyke is also the most successful softball coach in the program's history. In 19 seasons, her teams appeared in 14 East Coast Conference Tournaments and eight NCAA Tournaments, won four ECC Championships, and won three East Regional titles. Her success also guided Molloy student-athletes to 87 All-Conference, 55 All-Region, and 10 All-American nods and helped earn her the ECC Coach of the Year in five different seasons.

"Susan has been a dedicated member of the Molloy community for years and has provided our students with much more than the lessons learned on the field," said Janine Biscari, Ed. D., Vice President for Student Affairs. "Susan has embodied the Molloy spirit of service and served as a tireless leader who worked incredibly hard to support her students and her colleagues."
