10 From Baseball/Softball Selected CSC Academic All-District

Five members of the Molloy baseball team and five from the softball team were tabbed Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators. From the baseball team graduate student Ryan Hynes, Senior JC Kiss, juniors Sean Welsh and Jack Coogan, and redshirt sophomore Mike Knapp and from the softball team Seniors Cheralyn Dusharme and Natalie Moussa, junior Emily McGurk, sophomore Stevie Dabbabie, and redshirt freshman Alexis Montgomery were selected.
 
The Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes for combined exceptional performances both in the classroom and on the field of play. Student-athletes selection to All-District teams must have over a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, have reached at least sophomore status academically, and be a standout performer on their respective teams.
 
Of the selections, Welsh has advanced for Academic All-American consideration in all of Division II.
 
An NCBWA/D2CCA All-Region Second Team and All-Conference First Team selection, Hynes picks up his second consecutive Academic All-District distinction. The Stony Brook native put together a stellar campaign on the mound, appearing and starting in 12 contests. The lefty put together an 6-1 record to go along with a 3.99 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 71.1 innings of work. Hynes concludes his Molloy career ranked fourth all time in wins and recently graduated with an MBA in Finance.
 
Kiss was named All-Conference Second Team and earns his second Academic All-District nod. Kiss appeared in 13 games on the mound, making 12 starts and tossing 68 innings of work. The left-hander posted an 7-2 record on the campaign while striking out 40 and won his last four straight starts. The senior is pursuing a degree in Management.
 
Already with a crowded resume in 2025 collecting his first career All-American nod, three All-Region distinctions, and a First Team All-Conference Welsh adds his first All-District honor. Atop the Lions lineup, Welsh's speed and power helped lead the East Coast Conference in runs (73), RBI (62), stolen bases (29), and home runs (15) while finishing third with 73 hits and totaling a .338 average. The junior is majoring in Finance.
 
A breakout season in 2025, Coogan tallies a Academic All-District. The junior appeared and started in 47 contests finishing fourth on the squad hitting .309. The right fielder totaled a career-high 56 hits, 35 RBI, 21 runs, 11 doubles, and 10 walks while studying Finance.
 
Knapp rounds out the Lions on the baseball diamond collecting his first career Academic All-District. The Levittown native made 13 appearances on the mound including 10 starts, posting a 5-3 record with one save in 66.1 innings of work. The right-hander totaled a 4.88 ERA and an ECC leading 72 strikeouts on the campaign, totaling a career-high 11 in two contests. Knapp continues his studies in Entertainment and Sports Management.
Dusharme was named All-Conference First Team in 2025 and earns her second Academic All-District nod. The catcher made 48 appearances behind the plate and drove in 28 runs on 49 hits, 10 doubles, and four home runs while hitting a career-high .316 at the plate. The senior graduated with a degree in marketing.
 
Moussa is a three-time Academic All-District selection. The senior graduated with a degree in biology/pre-med major after earning All-ECC First Team honors alongside a D2CCA All-Region First Team and NFCA All-Region Second Team. The Chino Hills native appeared in all 50 games, including 40 appearances in the pitcher's circle. She averaged .373 at the plate leading the offense with 63 hits, 40 RBI, and eight home runs. Inside the circle she collected a 4.98 ERA through 147.2 innings of work, striking out 80.
 
McGurk tallies her first career Academic All-District. The junior started in all 50 games at third base hitting .275 with a career-high 42 hits alongside 33 runs scored and nine RBI. McGurk will return for her senior year studying criminal justice.
 
Dabbadie an All-ECC First Team and D2CCA All-Region Second Team selection collects her first career Academic All-District. The sophomore appeared in all 50 games this season while making 39 appearances in the circle. The Burbank native hit .325 on the campaign totaling 53 hits, 31 RBI, 24 runs scored, and 12 doubles and is pursuing a degree in business.
 
In her first season in the lineup, Montgomery earns an Academic All-District. The redshirt freshman made 48 starts in center field in 2025 totaling a .291 average with 37 hits, 28 runs scored and 11 RBI.
