About the Field
#1 Molloy:
  • The Lions collected its fourth consecutive ECC Regular Season Championship putting together a 15-5 mark in conference play alongside a 29-17 overall record.
  • Molloy enters this tournament the defending champs after winning it all in 2024 and has appeared in the ECC final in six of the last seven seasons, clinching the title in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
  • The cardinal and white rank second in the league in team batting average, hitting .289 as a squad. The power and speed combination of junior Sean Welsh has helped the Lions atop the lineup. Alongside starting in all 46 contests, the junior paces the squad with a ECC leading 15 home runs and 55 RBI while hitting .328 at the dish, and topping the ECC with 28 stolen bases and scoring 60 runs.
  • In 46 games, graduate student Aidan Larkin enters the tournament with a team-leading 62 hits sporting a .330 batting average. The infielder is tied for second on the team with 14 stolen bases in 14 attempts.
  • Entering the tournament, senior Patrick Sanchez tops the squad hitting .339 on the campaign. Alongside playing outstanding defense at shortstop, the senior has collected 56 hits, 11 doubles, and 32 RBI while swiping 14 bases.
  • On the mound, Molloy sports a league leading 4.08 team ERA. The staff is paced by a trio of five-game winners: graduate student Ryan Hynes (5-0), senior JC Kiss (5-2), and sophomore James Sill (5-2).
  • Sill ranks third in the nation sporting a healthy 1.52 ERA and leads the conference in opposing batting average (.175) and strikeouts (67).
  • Hynes comes into the tournament picking up victories in four of his last five starts. The lefty sits third in the conference in ERA (3.41) and strikeouts (60) while sitting fourth in opposing batting average (.270).
  • The bullpen has seen redshirt junior Sean Mileti and freshman Jayden Patel pick up key roles. Mileti has collected four wins and two saves out of the bullpen and enters the tournament as the bullpens most experienced arm with two ECC titles to his credit.
  • Patel has totaled a team-high four saves, ranking second in the ECC. The freshman has been called upon in tight spots, leading the bullpen with 23 innings pitched. 
#2 Staten Island:
  • The Dolphins are making its first ever appearance in the ECC Baseball Championship after finishing with a conference record of 11-9 and an overall record of 18-26.
  • Chris Polemeni leads the offense and is ranked in the top five in the ECC in batting average (.379), slugging percentage (.751), runs scored (52), hits (64), RBI (46), and home runs (14).
  • A.J. Vigliotti is sixth in the league driving in 44 to this point, sporting a .350 average while hammering five home runs and 49 hits.
  • Michael Flashner carries a .351 average into the tournament in his first season. The freshman has totaled 40 hits and 20 runs scored.
  • Ryan Kehoe leads the rotation with four wins and a staff leading 10 starts and 56 strikeouts.
  • Staten Island went 6-6 against the field during the regular season.
#3 Mercy:
  • The Mavericks return to the ECC Championship tournament after missing it in 2024. Mercy posted a 10-10 league mark while holding a 28-22 overall record.
  • As a squad, the Mavericks hoist the highest team batting average at .324 topping the field in hits, doubles, home runs, and RBI.
  • The team is led by Peyton Jemison who tops the ECC hitting .411 entering the tournament totaling a league leading 19 doubles.
  • Sitting right behind Jemison is Kolongi Goins who holds a steady .397 average good for second in the conference. Goins also sits atop the conference in on base percentage, getting on base at a .514 clip.
  • A big source of power in the lineup come from John Nisco and Zach Ashline. Nisco has driven in 55 runs off the power of nine home runs and Ashline has talled eight big flys while driving in 37.
  • On the base path, Joseph Gonzalez ranks second in the conference with 25 stolen bases in 32 attempts and is tied for second on the team with 63 hits.
  • Amongst qualified starters, Andre Jenkins has posted a 5-1 on the mound. The sophomore leads the rotation with a 3.84 ERA totaling 39 strikeouts in 61 innings.
  • Matthew Manzoeillo tops the team with six wins in 45.2 innings of work while Diego Wirz and Ryan DiNapoli have each tallied five wins.
  • Out of the bullpen, Samuel Gil leads the conference with eight saves on the campaign in 16 appearances totaling 14.1 innings.
  • Mercy went 6-6 against the field during the regular season.
#4 Queens:
  • The Knights enter the tournament for the sixth straight season, ending the conference year 9-11 with a 18-26 overall record.
  • Queens won the crown in 2023, marking the programs second Championship.
  • Hitting .331 on the season Robert Jacobsen tops the team. The senior leads with five home runs, and a .541 slugging percentage.
  • Penn Sealey tops all hitters with 53 hits and is second in the league with 16 doubles. The graduate student has driven in 31 on the season, good for second on the squad.
  • In the heart of the order sits Matt Filip who has totaled 45 hits entering the tournament and a team leading 33 RBI.
  • Peter Nenadich III leads the pitching staff with three wins in 51 innings pitched, sporting 15 appearances and seven starts. The sophomore leads the team with 49 strikeouts.
  • Nate Rodriguez and Nick Kozerski have collected three and two saves, respectively.
  • Queens went 5-7 against the field in the regular season.
Molloy Against the Field 
  • The Lions sport a 7-5 record against the field this season, taking three-of-four against Staten Island and splitting 2-2 against Mercy and Queens.
  • Of the teams in the field, Molloy only faced Queens last year in the 2024 tournament.
  • The Lions and Knights met in the tournament's opening game in 2024 with Queens rallying off two runs to take the lead in the top of the ninth, before the Lions won the contest in walk-off fashion.
Molloy in the Postseason
  • The Lions enter the tournament seeking its fourth ECC title in the last five seasons.
  • Molloy has appeared in the NCAA East Super Regional in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
