Lodi, N.J. – Add five more members of the Lions to earn Player of the Week awards for the East Coast Conference, announced by the league this afternoon. Senior
Christian Michaels was named Defensive Player of the Week, senior
Megan Rugolo earned Co-Player of the Week, junior
Sean Welsh was named Player of the Week, sophomore
James Sill was tabbed Pitcher of the Week, and freshman
Liam Taylor was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week. In addition, six members of the cardinal and white were selected to their sports' respective Weekly Honor Rolls.
Michaels collects his second Defensive Player of the Week in the last three weeks. The senior stood strong in net to help lead Molloy to a 7-6 ECC win over Frostburg State, making 14 saves in net for a .700 save percentage in the full 60:00.
Taylor continued to be a force for the Molloy defensive line, helping the Lions to a 7-6 ECC victory over Frostburg State with a team-high six ground balls and a team-high four caused turnovers.
Joining Michaels and Taylor on the Honor Roll from men's lacrosse is junior
Brian Green. The junior netted the game-winning goal in Molloy's 7-6 ECC win over Frostburg State. For the game, Green scored twice and added three ground balls.
Rugolo scored the overtime, game-winning goal to lead Molloy to a 19-18 thriller over No. 23 Mercy in ECC play on Saturday. The Molloy senior attacker posted eight points on the day with five goals and three assists and added three draw controls and two caused turnovers in the victory.

Sofia Quitoni earned a spot on the women's lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll. Quitoni set a career-high seven points with six goals and an assist in Molloy's 19-18 overtime victory over Mercy. Three of the senior's six goals came in the fourth quarter of the contest, including tying the game with 16 seconds left to force overtime.
Welsh was scorching hot in a 4-1 week for the Lions that included a four-game sweep of St. Thomas Aquinas. The junior hit .350 (7-for-20), driving in 14 runs, scoring 10 times, and connecting on five home runs while slugging 1.150 and getting on base at a .435 clip. The Molloy junior began the weekend slugging a home run and driving in three against the Spartans. Welsh continued to hit the long ball, totaling two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs scored in Molloy's doubleheader sweep on Saturday. The third baseman capped the weekend hitting two home runs as part of a three-hit day, drove in four runs, and scored three times to complete the four-game series against STAC on Sunday.
For the fourth time in the last five weeks, Sill tallies himself Pitcher of the Week. Sill improved to 5-0 on the season after picking up a victory against St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday. The right-hander tossed seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven in the 13-3 triumph.

Nicholas Dagnello and junior
Jack Coogan earned spots on the Weekly Honor Roll from the baseball team. Dagnello hit .409 (9-for-22) while driving in 11 and slugging a home run in a four-win week for the Lions. Dagnello totaled three hits and three RBI against St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday before putting together a four-hit, six-RBI day including a home run on Saturday. The clean up hitter finished the weekend with two RBI against the Spartans Sunday afternoon.
Coogan helped propel the bottom third of the order for the Lions in a four win week. Coogan hit .429 (6-for-14) while scoring four runs, driving in two and collecting two doubles. The junior tallied a three hit game on Friday against St. Thomas Aquinas where he tallied three doubles and an RBI. The right fielder collected a two hit, three run contest in game one of the doubleheader against the Spartans where he also knocked in one run.
From the softball team, senior
Natalie Moussa and junior
Emily McGurk represented the cardinal and white on the Honor Roll. Moussa pitched 18.2 innings this past week, recording an ERA of 1.12 and striking out 14 batters. In Game one against Queens, Moussa tossed a complete game, allowing no earned runs and striking out a career-high 10 batters. In Game 1 against St. Thomas Aquinas, Moussa pitched her fourth complete game of the season, striking out four batters and allowing just two runs in the 4-2 win.
McGurk batted .538 this past week, recording seven hits and three RBI. In Game one against Queens, McGurk led the offense, going 3-for-4 at the plate while also swiping a base. In Game two, she add two more hits and matched a career-high three RBI. In Game 2 against St. Thomas Aquinas, McGurk went 2-for-3 at the plate and stole one base.
