Men's Lacrosse Wins Program's First-Ever ECC Tournament Game

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - A history making season for the men's lacrosse team continued with a definitive 19-9 victory over Frostburg State University this afternoon in the East Coast Conference Tournament Semifinal. Molloy improved to a record-best 14-4 record with the win and will play for the ECC Championship on Saturday while Frostburg's season ends with a record of 7-9.

How it Happened
  • FSU came out strong, taking a 3-0 lead after just five minutes of play.
  • Senior Luke Hickam and junior Jake Taylor responded with goals to close the first quarter with the Lions trailing by one.
  • Hickam would score two more goals within three minutes of one another to open the second frame and put Molloy in front. A goal from senior Noah Taylor increased the lead to 5-3 just 30 seconds later.
  • The teams would exchange scores over the next eight minutes until FSU came within one, 6-5.
  • Freshman Liam Taylor and junior Tommy Corcoron would both score in the final two minutes of the half to put the Lions ahead 8-5 at the break.
  • Frostburg would come within two goals twice in the second half, but Molloy exploded for seven goals in the fourth quarter, allowing just one from the Bobcats, to earn the victory.
