Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The softball team snapped a 27-game win streak for the 17th-ranked Pace University Setters this afternoon at Bob Klein Field, taking game two of the doubleheader with an 8-6 victory. Pace claimed the opener with a 7-0 win. With the split, the Lions move to 18-26 on the season, while the Setters now stand at 33-9.
Game One: Pace 7, Molloy 0
How it Happened
- Sophomore pitcher Stevie Dabbadie allowed just one walk and one hit in the opening inning. The Lions' defense kept a run off the board, however, ending the inning with a relay throw from redshirt freshman Alexis Montgomery in center field to freshman shortstop Casey Kissinger to senior catcher Cheralyn Dusharme to get Riley Jenkins out at the plate.
- In the top of the second, Brianna Shae drew a walk and advanced into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Madison Picerno. Jade Alvarado then tripled to left center, driving in the game's first run. A sacrifice fly from Sophie Valle doubled the lead.
- An RBI single from Jenkins in the top of the third inning pushed Pace's lead to 3-0.
- Dabbadie made quick work of the fifth inning, needing just five pitches to retire the side and mark six consecutive outs across the fourth and fifth innings.
- The top of the sixth saw Shae drive in two runs with a triple to center field, followed by an RBI ground out from Picerno to stretch the lead to 6-0. Two more singles set the table for another RBI single from Shae in the seventh inning, capping the scoring at 7-0.
- With Pace pitcher Gisselle Garcia just one strike away from a perfect game, senior Natalie Moussa spoiled it with a double to center field.

Game Two: Molloy 8, Pace 6
How it Happened
- The Setters wasted no time in game two, opening with a single and a sacrifice bunt to move Nikki Chong into scoring position. Riley Jenkins then delivered an RBI single up the middle to give Pace an early 1-0 lead.
- In the top of the third, a double and a single brought in two more runs, stretching Pace's advantage to 3-0.
- The Lions responded in the bottom of the third, erupting for six runs. McGurk led off with a single before sophomore Amaya Page reached on a fielding error. A fielder's choice to junior Mae Savage moved McGurk to third, and another error loaded the bases.
- Moussa singled up the middle to plate the home team's first run of the day. Dusharme followed with an RBI single to third base, then advanced to second on a wild pitch that allowed Montgomery to score and tie the game at three.
- Dabbadie legged out an infield single to bring in Moussa, putting the Lions ahead 4-3. A sacrifice fly from freshman Maddeline Millman and an RBI single from McGurk pushed the lead to 6-3.
- Montgomery drew a walk and stole second to set up Dusharme, who launched a two-run homer to left field to make it 8-3 in the bottom of the fourth.
- Pace threatened in the top of the sixth, as Mikayla Hughes drew a walk and three consecutive singles, combined with a defensive misplay, brought in two runs to cut the deficit to 8-5.
- Dabbadie entered in relief with runners on the corners and no outs. She struck out the first two batters swinging and induced a fly out to center field to escape the jam without any further damage.
- In the top of the seventh, Savage made a diving catch to deny Shea a hit.
- Aubrey Carroll homered to right field to bring the Setters within two, and Faith Scally followed with a single through the right side.
- Dabbadie struck out the final batter swinging to secure the 8-6 win for Molloy.

- Dabbadie earned her first career save, striking out four batters in two innings of relief and added a hit and an RBI at the plate.
