Buffalo, N.Y. – The softball team split a doubleheader with D'Youville University this afternoon, rallying in the seventh to force extras and securing an 11-9 win in game one before falling just short in a 10-9 loss in game two. The Lions stand at 13-21 (7-3 ECC) and the Saints improve to 17-9 (7-5 ECC).
Game One: Molloy 11, D'Youville 9 (8 Innings)
How it Happened
- Molloy jumped out to an early lead, scoring five runs on just two hits in the first inning. The rally began with three consecutive walks to load the bases for the Lions.
- With two outs, freshman Madeline Millman doubled to right center, clearing the bases for a 3-0 lead.
- A fielding error and a single by sophomore Amaya Page plated two more runs to close out the top of the first with a 5-0 lead.
- Junior Mae Savage led off the second inning with a single to left field.
- Senior Natalie Moussa followed with her fifth home run of the season, extending the Lions' lead to 7-0.
- D'Youville rallied for eight runs in the second inning on a combination of six hits and four walks including a two-run single by Hailee Jenkins, an RBI double from Sophia Arno, and a game-tying RBI single by Gianna Adamo. A walk to Annie Jorgenson gave the Saints an 8-7 lead to close out the inning.
- In the fifth, Millman was hit by a pitch and freshman Megan Wegel drew a walk, putting runners on first and second. Page delivered again with a single to center field, tying the game at 8-8.
- D'Youville answered in the bottom of the fifth with a single and an RBI double to reclaim the lead at 9-8.
- Molley tied it again in the seventh when Millman singled before back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Savage reached on a fielder's choice, scoring freshman pinch runner Casey Kissenger to make it a 9-9 contest.
- Sophomore Stevie Dabbadie allowed just two hits in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings.
- The Lions broke through in the eighth with three runs. Moussa led off with a single, Dusharme reached on a fielder's choice, and Dabbadie doubled to right field to put two in scoring position.
- Wegel followed with a two-run single to give Molloy the lead.
- Dabbadie then retired the side in order in the bottom of the eighth to secure the comeback win.

Game Two: D'Youville 10, Molloy 9
How it Happened
- D'Youville opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on three-straight walks with a sacrifice fly from Gabby Moreno to take a 1-0 lead.
- Millman drew a walk to lead off the second inning before Kissenger advanced on a passed ball as a pinch runner. Redshirt freshman Alexis Montgomery followed with a walk to put two runners on.
- Savage came through with a two-run double to left field, putting Molloy ahead 2-1.
- The Saints leveled the score at two in the bottom half, then used a walk and a three-run double to put them ahead 6-2.
- Moussa led off the third with a single to center field, and Dusharme followed with a double to left field. A sacrifice fly from Dabbadie brought in a run to cut the deficit to 6-3.
- Dabbadie kept D'Youville scoreless in the bottom of the third, retiring the side in order.
- In the fifth, Moussa doubled to left center and scored on a single from Dabbadie.
- Millman followed with a single, setting up Wegel's second triple of the season to drive in two runs and tie the game at six.
- Montgomery then delivered an RBI single to left field, giving the Lions its first lead of the game at 7-6.
- D'Youville threatened in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded and two outs, but Dabbadie forced a ground out to end the inning.
- The Saints bounced back in the sixth with two runs to reclaim the lead, then extended it to 9-7 following a fielding error.
- In the top of the seventh, three consecutive singles from junior Emily McGurk, Montgomery, and Savage loaded the bases. A Saints fielding error allowed two runs to score, tying the game at nine.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Adamo walked and Jorgenson delivered a walk-off RBI double to right center, securing a 10-9 victory for the Saints.
