Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The #18 men's lacrosse team opened up East Coast Conference play with a definitive 24-4 victory over the Saints of D'Youville University this afternoon from the RVC Sports Complex. Molloy improved to 9-3 on the campaign with the win while D'Youville fell to 4-7 (0-3 ECC) with the loss.

How it Happened

• Molloy cruised to a 10-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of play. Juniors Jake Taylor and Brian Green each netted three goals in the run
• D'Youville got on the board with just over a minute left in the first quarter, but juniors Tommy Corcoron and Justin Palulis both scored in the final 10 seconds to make it 12-1 after 15 minutes of play.
• Palulis netted his third of the game on man-up to start the second frame.
• The Lions shut out the Saints in the second frame, with Taylor adding two more goals to go with one from freshman Aydan De Liso to lead 16-1 at the half.
• Palulis netted two more to start the second half before Suman Ramlall broke the run of eight unanswered.
• Molloy would end the third quarter ahead, 20-2.
• The Saints scored twice in the final frame while four different Lions also found the back of the net to round out the score at 24-4.

Top Performances

• Taylor (five goals, one assist) and Green (three goals, three assists) led with six points.
• Palulis netted five goals for five points while senior Noah Taylor dished out five assists.
• Corcoron had two goals and two assists for four points.
• Sophomores Owen Taylor and Michael McClain each scored twice.
• Senior Mike D'Amato also reached two points with one goal and one assist.
• DeLiso and freshmen Anthony LaSala, Jacob Faison, and Luke Barrera each had goals.
• Juniors Thomas Kofod, Brandon Pazienza, and Nick Taiani as well as seniors Bryan Diliberto and Jack Herzlinger and freshman Matt Calvo all had helpers.
• Pazienza topoped the team with seven ground balls, going 10-of-13 on face-offs.
• Freshman Aiden Dinnigan had five ground balls to go with a team-leading four caused turnovers.
• Junior Eric Schiller picked up four ground balls.
• Junior James Franz and Rocco Hogan each added three with Franz going 6-of-8 on face-offs.
• Freshman Cameron Hovanec rounded out Molloy's day at the dot, going 4-of-8.
• Senior Chcristian Michaels made two saves in one half of action while junior John Basile made six in the second half.
