Colonia, N.J. – The East Coast Conference released its weekly awards this afternoon with sophomore
James Sill totaling his second straight Pitcher of the Week honor. Additionally, five members of the cardinal and white were tabbed to their respective sports' Weekly Honor Roll.
Sill was dominant on Saturday, tossing his first complete game shutout as a Lion against Franklin Pierce (Mar. 15). The right-hander pitched seven innings allowing just four hits and struck out nine to improve to 3-0 on the campaign.
Joining Sill with recognition on the Honor Roll is graduate student
Aidan Larkin. Hitting in the heart of the Lions order, Larkin continued his hot streak at the dish in Molloy's 3-1 week. The graduate student hit .411 (7-for-17) totaling five RBI, four runs, three stolen bases, one homer and one double. The second basemen kicked off the week hitting his first home run of the season as part of a three hit day in Molloy's win over Bentley (Mar. 10) while scoring three runs and driving in three. Larkin then went on to hit 4-for-8 in Molloy's doubleheader split against Franklin Pierce (Mar. 15), where he tallied three hits, one run, and one RBI in the game two victory.
The 15th-ranked men's lacrosse team garnered two Honor Roll selections. Junior
Thomas Kofod paved the way for the Molloy defense. The long-stick midfielder picked up 12 ground balls and caused eight turnovers in a 2-0 week for the No. 15 Lions. The junior had a career day on the road at Post with nine ground balls and six caused turnovers, both numbers setting new career-highs. Joining Kofod is freshman
Liam Taylor, who helped anchor the defense in the unbeaten week. The freshman totaled seven ground balls and two caused turnovers, with six of the ground balls and both forced turnovers coming on the road in a narrow victory at Post.
From the softball team, senior
Cheralyn Dusharme made an impact on the diamond earning herself a spot on the Honor Roll. The senior hit .500 (5-for-10) at the plate on the weekend, including two doubles and 5 RBIs. In game two against Southern Connecticut, Dusharme went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double, and plated five runs. She added another double in game one against St. Anselm.
Rounding out the cardinal and white Honor Roll selections is senior
Brenna Signorelli from women's lacrosse. Signorelli netted a career-high five goals in Molloy's lone contest on the week to go with three ground balls.
