Strong Start Lifts #15 Men's Lacrosse Over Post

Waterbury, Conn. - The No. 15 men's lacrosse team made it five-straight wins this afternoon, topping Post University 10-6 from LaMoy Field. Molloy sits at 7-1 nearing the midway point of the season while Post is now 2-3.

How it Happened
  • The cardinal and white had a dominant start to the game, taking a 4-0 lead with goals from juniors Brian Green and Justin Palulis, freshman Jacob Faison, and senior Noah Taylor. 
  • Post broke the streak with a goal with 4:19 to play in the first quarter, but Palulius netted his second of the contest in the final minute to make it 5-1.
  • The home team would strike first in the second frame to come within three, but senior Bryan Diliberto scored back-to-back markers to make it 7-2.
  • In the final 30 seconds of the half, the Eagles snuck one final goal in to set the score at 7-3 at the break.
  • Leighton Cooke would score twice in the third quarter for Post, but senior Jack Herzlinger's goal helped Molloy maintain an 8-5 advantage headed into the final 15 minutes of play.
  • Diliberto and junior Jake Taylor would put up the final goals for the Lions.
Top Performances
  • Diliberto's three goals led the team. Noah Taylor also reached three points on one goal and two assists.
  • Herzlinger (one goal, one assist), Palulis (two goals), Jake Taylor (one goal, one assist), and senior Luke Hickam (two assists) all totaled two points.
  • Senior Dre Alexis, junior Tommy Corcoron, and sophomore Owen Taylor each added assists.
  • Junior Thomas Kofod had a career-high nine ground balls and six caused turnovers, pacing the team in both categories.
  • Freshman Liam Taylor followed with a career-high six ground balls while adding two caused turnovers.
  • Junior Jaden McLeod forced three turnovers while picking up four ground balls.
  • Jake Taylor, junior Shawn McCabe, and sophomore Rocco Hogan all had three ground balls while Alexis and freshman Aiden Dinnigan both forced two turnovers.
  • Senior Christian Michaels made 12 stops in cage.
