Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The No. 22/29 ranked Molloy baseball team fell to the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College, 5-0, Saturday morning on Ebbets Field at the Ripken Experience. The Lions move to 2-1 on the campaign, while the Griffins improve to 2-1.
How it Happened
- The Griffins opened the scoring in the bottom of the first following an RBI ground out.
- Chestnut Hill added to its lead in the second after Kenyon Motley singled home a run to go ahead, 2-0.
- The designated home team continued to add on to its lead in the third inning, tallying three runs following a solo home run, RBI single, and a run scoring off a fielder's choice to extend its lead, 5-0.
- The Lions best chance of the day came in the top of sixth inning, when they loaded the bases with nobody out with the lineup flipping over to the top.
- Chestnut Hill would halt the threat recording a pair of strikeouts and a pop out to keep Molloy off the scoreboard and go on to complete the victory, 5-0.
