Buffalo, N.Y. - The men's basketball team slipped this afternoon against D'Youville University, 93-87, from the Saints Center Gym. • A three-pointer from Dawson Matsell paired with strong foul shooting from the Saints quickly regained the double digit lead headed into the final three minutes of the half.
  • Matos went on a rally to end the half, putting up seven points in the final 2:50 to help Molloy come within five, 42-37, at the break.
  • The home team would strike first in the second half, but a jumper from freshman Sebastian Bosquez, dunk from graduate student Matt Lane, and three-point play from Matos worked the Lions back within two, 46-44, in the opening minutes.
  • D'Youville would score on back-to-back possessions to pull in front before an 11-5 run put the home team back in front by double digits, 60-49 with 13:19 to play.
  • The cardinal and white spent the resulting seven minutes working the score back to a one possession game, 77-74, including 18 points from Matos.
  • A three-pointer from Crowley paired with a foul shot from Matos brought Molloy within one, 84-83 with just under two minutes remaining.
  • However, D'Youvlle would net the next six points to take a 90-83 lead that the Lions would run out of time to overcome.
