Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Molloy women's basketball team kicked off the second half of its conference schedule Saturday afternoon with a 74-57 victory over Queens College on Bob Houlihan Court. The Lions improve to 11-11 overall and 4-5 in East Coast Conference play while the Knights move to 8-11 overall and 3-6 in league play.
How it Happened
- Molloy kicked off the afternoon on an 8-2 run, shooting three-of-five from the floor in the opening 3:47.
- Queens netted back-to-back baskets to come within two, 8-6, midway through the opening quarter.
- The Lions ended the opening stanza on a 11-3 rally, paced by senior Samantha Muller who netted five points to give Molloy an 19-9 lead heading into the second quarter.
- The cardinal and white continued to stay hot from the field, starting the second quarter with a 14-0 run, shooting 55 percent from the floor, and causing six turnovers. Junior Casey Campo sparked the rally with six points to give Molloy a 33-9 lead with 6:23 left in the second quarter.
- The squads traded baskets for the remainder of the first half, sending the contest into halftime with Molloy ahead, 39-18.
- The home team maintained its 20-point lead throughout the third quarter, outscoring the Knights, 21-13, in the third quarter to open its lead to 29, 60-31, going into the fourth quarter.
- In the final stanza, the Lions would gain its largest lead of the contest, 67-36, and go on to win the contest, 74-57.

- Muller paced the squad with a team-high 13 points, shooting 50 percent from the floor.
- Campo totaled 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals.
- Junior Rosa Rizzitelli tallied 10 points, five assists, and three steals.
- Senior Janel Moore and freshman Iris Hoffman each added three steals with Moore also chipping in three assists.
- Graduate student Danielle Hippner put up three blocks and topped the Lions with nine rebounds.
- Freshmen Emma Poland and Grace Trotta each matched career-high point totals.
