New Haven, Conn. – The Molloy men's basketball team fell to the Owls of Southern Connecticut State, 78-60, Saturday afternoon inside James W. Moore Fieldhouse. The Lions move to 1-11 on the campaign, while the Owls improve to 4-4.
How it Happened
- Both squads went stride for stride to start off the contest, sitting at a deadlock, 24-24, midway through the first half.
- The next 5:35 of action was more of the same with the teams trading baskets, but the final 4:25 of the opening stanza saw the Owls rally to a 15-4 run to take a 46-36 lead into halftime.
- Southern Connecticut State controlled the second half, putting together a 17-8 run to open a 19-point advantage, 63-44, with 11:10 to play.
- The home team would go-ahead by as much as 26 and hold the Lions to 30 percent shooting in the second half en route to the victory.
