Manchester, N.Y. - The volleyball team concluded the opening weekend of play with a sweep of Franklin Pierce, 3-0, and Southern New Hampshire, 3-2, this afternoon from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. Molloy ends the weekend with a record of 3-1.

How it Happened
- The Ravens led 10-2 in the opening set, but the Lions clawed back.
- An 11-2 run from Molloy gave the visitors a 23-21 lead, including five kills from senior Kiarra Roth and three aces from senior Julia Zalta.
- FPU would knot the score at 24, but an attack error from the Ravens followed by an ace from senior Alex Brown secured the set victory for Molloy.
- The teams were evenly matched in the second set, featuring eight tie scores, including as late as 21-21.
- Freshman Isabella Rios tallied three kills in the final four points en route to the set victory.
- The score remained close throughout most of the third set, but a six-point run from the cardinal and white gave the Lions a 23-14 advantage.
- Roth and sophomore Erin Stanley landed the final two kills of the contest for the win.
- The Lions had a strong day at the service line, putting up 15 aces, including five each from Zalta and sophomore Aria Miller.
- Roth led with 20 kills, adding six digs. Rios also finished in double digits with 10 kills and added seven digs.
- Miller's 12 digs paced the Lions with Brown and Stanley each adding six.

How it Happened
- The teams went back and forth for nearly the entire first set, neither stringing together more than two-straight points until a kill from Roth, an ace from Miller, and an attack error from the Penmen gave Molloy a 23-19 advantage.
- Kills from Roth and junior Teresa Moulder sealed the set victory for the Lions.
- Molloy led 5-1 early in the second set, but two separate five-point rallies from SNHU put the home team too far ahead for the Lions to catch.
- The teams once again exchanged rallies in the third set and found the contest tied as late as 24-24.
- Roth and Rios were once again a deadly combination at the net, recording the final two kills to put Molloy ahead, 2-1, on the afternoon.
- The fourth set belonged entirely to the Penmen, who attacked at a .318 clip and allowed just six kills from the visitors, forcing a deciding set.
- The Lions trailed to start the fifth set, but kills from Roth and senior Rebecca Meier paired with a block from Moulder helped Molloy to a 7-2 advantage.
- The home team would come within three, but the cardinal and white would net eight of the final nine points, including six kills from Moulder.
- Roth reached 20 kills for the third-straight contest to lead the Lions, adding six digs and three aces.
- Rios had a career-high 14 kills and 20 digs for a double-double, also adding three aces.
- Moulder tallied 10 kills and added two blocks.
