Men's Lacrosse Topped by #4 Adelphi

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse team fell to the fourth-ranked Panthers of Adelphi University this evening, 22-7. Molloy sits at 6-7 on the season while Adelphi is now 9-2.

How it Happened
  • Sophomore Justin Palulis broke up a four-goal scoring run for the Panthers, putting Molloy on the board nine minutes into the contest.
  • Adelphi would lead 6-1 after one quarter of action.
  • Sophomore Konrad Maciejny scored on a pass from junior Noah Taylor to open the second frame and cut the deficit to four. 
  • Tucket Logan would score back-to-back goals for the visitors before redshirt freshman Brian Green converted an extra-man opportunity for the Lions. 
  • Adelphi would close the first half with a 12-3 lead and scored eight times in the third quarter. Maciejny's goal in the final minute of the third frame helped Molloy trail, 20-4, headed into the final 15 minutes.
  • Green would add his second man-up goal of the evening before junior Tommy Corcoron and sophomore Ryan Polehinke netted back-to-back goals to round out Molloy's scoring.
Top Performances
  • Green and Maciejny each scored twice. 
  • Corcoron added an assist to his goal for two points.
  • Palulis and Polehinke accounted for Molloy's other goals.
  • Taylor, freshman Michael McClain, and senior Chris Delaney each added assists.
  • Junior goalie Christian Michaels made eight saves in net, reaching over 600 in his Molloy career.
  • Sophomore Brandon Pazienza went 18-of-27 on face-offs, picking up 15 ground balls.
  • Sophomore Thomas Kofod led with two forced turnovers while picking up four ground balls.
  • Sophomore John Basile made four stops in relief.

Molloy will host Roberts Wesleyan University on Saturday (Apr. 13) at 12:00 p.m. Before the game, the Lions will recognize the eight members of its graduating class in a Senior Day ceremony.
