Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team secured its first East Coast Conference victory of the 2024 campaign this afternoon, besting the Wildcats of Daemen University, 17-7. The Lions improved to 6-5 on the season and 1-2 in league play while Daemen fell to 4-9 (1-2 ECC). The contest over could very well determine which of the pair earns a spot in the upcoming East Coast Conference Tournament and was a crucial victory for the Lions.

- The opening stanza belong entirely to Molloy, with senior Erin Murphy scoring twice in the first two minutes, junior Megan Rugolo adding two goals, and junior Sofia Quitoni adding one.
- Junior Alexa Amorison added a tally to start the second frame before Dana Bacher broke the streak and put the Wildcats on the board.
- Murphy netted another two goals to extend Moloy's lead to 8-1.
- The Wilcats would score twice in the final five minutes of the second quarter, cutting the deficit to five.
- The Lions roared into action in the third quarter, scoring four-straight, including two from Quitoni, making it 12-3.
- Daemen would score twice within one minute before Quitoni and Amorison each found the back to the net to end the quarter with Molloy in front, 14-5.
- Ella Bouley would account for both of Daemen's goals in the fourth quarter, but Quitoni and two from junior Brenna Signorelli rounded out the scoring.
