Rockville Centre, N.Y.- The softball team split a doubleheader with the College of Staten Island this afternoon, falling 5-2 in game one before rallying from down two runs to win 3-2 in extra innings in game two. The Lions hold a 22-16 (10-2 ECC) record, while the Dolphins sit at 14-28 (6-10 ECC).
Before the doubleheader, the program recognized its six members of the senior class:
Alex Burns (marketing),
Emma Bachman (business),
Katie Hand (nursing),
Chrissie Huhn (nursing),
Steph Conrade (secondary education), and
Brianna Macias (entertainment and sport management) in a senior day ceremony.
Game One: CSI 5, Molloy 2
How it Happened
- Molloy got things started in the bottom of the first inning with a triple to right field from graduate student Steph Conrade.
- A sacrifice fly from fellow graduate student Alex Burns plated the first run of the game.
- A single to third base by Conrade and a fielder's choice for Burns put runners on first and second to start the third inning.
- An RBI single from freshman Stevie Dabbadie doubled the lead.
- Back-to-back singles for Mariah Carcano and Aileen Balderas followed by Anissa Acosta's double to right center leveled the score at two in the top of the fifth inning.
- An RBI single from Olivia Wanser to left field put the Dolphins ahead 3-2.
- Three consecutive singles for Staten Island added another run in the top of the seventh before an RBI double from Amanda Stalker rounded out the scoring to 5-2 for the visiting team.

- Dabbadie and freshman Sophia Mariottini each recorded one hit, with Dabbadie adding one RBI.

Game Two: Molloy 3, CSI 2 (8 Innings)
How it Happened
- Staten Island's momentum carried into game two, scoring two runs on four hits to start the third inning.
- Burns led off the home half of the fourth inning with a single to right field before scoring on a double to left field from senior Katie Hand, cutting the deficit in half.
- The score would stand until the bottom of the seventh inning. A fielder's choice from graduate student Emma Bachman and a walk to senior Chrissie Huhn put runners on first and second.
- Bachman would advance to third on a fielder's choice from Conrade before tying the game on a wild pitch to force extra innings.
- Senior Brianna Macias forced a ground out to start the top of the eighth before the Dolphins lined out to Dabbadie at first base for a double play to end the inning.
- In the home half of the inning, Dabbadie got things started for the Lions, singling to left field before advancing into scoring position following a fielding error on the play.
- Junior Cheralyn Dusharme's ground out to second base advanced Dabbadie to third.
- A throwing error during Mariottini's at bat would allow Dabbadie to score the game-winning run.
