Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.- The softball team swept Mercy University in an East Coast Conference doubleheader this afternoon. The Lions rallied after being down 8-4 in the sixth inning of game one to win 14-8 Â and then secured a 6-0 win in game two. Molloy improves to 21-15 (9-1 ECC) and the Mavericks fall to 10-22 (4-10 ECC).

Game One: Molloy 14, Mercy 8 (8 Innings)
How it Happened
- Home runs from Allison Murphy and Samantha Franck started the first two innings and gave the Mavericks a 2-0 lead.
- The Lions quickly knotted the contest in the top of the third. Graduate student Emma Bachman doubled to left field to start the inning and scored on a triple from graduate student Alex Burns. Burns' game-tying run was plated with an outfield single from freshman Stevie Dabbadie. Â
- A pair of singles from freshman Sophia Mariottini and Bachman followed by a double to right center from senior Chrissie Huhn put Molloy ahead 4-2.
- Delaney Baker's solo home run brought the Mavericks within one in the bottom of the fifth.
- Mariottini's control in the circle wavered in the home half of the sixth innings, putting four base runners on via two walks and two singles and putting Mercy ahead, 5-4.Â
- A single to Maddie Lula loaded the bases before Dylan Reyer's bases-clearing double put the home team ahead, 8-4.
- Needing four runs to stay alive, the Lions' bats went to work with a single to right center from Huhn. She scored on a dobule from Burns before a two-run home run from Dabbadie brought Molloy within one, 8-7, with one out remaining.Â
- Junior Cheralyn Dusharme singled up the middle before senior Katie Hand doubled to left center to advance freshman pinch runner Kiara Gaghan to third.
- Sophomore Mae Savage reached on a fielding error to allow Gaghan to score the tying run.
- Mariottini struck out two batters in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.
- Bachman started the top of the eighth inning by reaching on a fielding error before Huhn singled to right center.
- The Lions capitalized on back-to-back wild pitches, scoring one run.
- A ground out RBI from Conrade plated another run.
- Burns, Dabbadie, and Dusharme loaded the bases with three consecutive singles before a sacrifice fly from Hand plated Burns.
- A single from Savage through the left side loaded the bases once more, allowing back-to-back- RBI singles from Mariottini and Bachman to give the Lions a 14-8 advantage.
- Mariottini once again retired the Mavericks in order in the bottom of the eighth, securing Molloy's come-from-behind victory.
Top Performances
- Burns and Dabbadie both went 4-for-5. Dabbadie drove in three runs, including two with her homer. Burns was a home run away from hitting for the cycle, driving in two runs.
- Huhn and Bachman both had three hits and drove in two runs.
- Mariottini sat down six batters to improve to 11-7 on the season.

How it Happened
- The Lions bats got right to work in game two with a lead-off single to the right side from Huhn.
- A sacrifice bunt from Conrade positioned Huhn to score on a single to right from Dabbadie.
- Conrade started the top of the third inning with a single to left field followed by a stolen base, and advanced to third on a fly out from Burns before scoring on a passed ball.
- Hand's led off the fourth inning with a home run down the left field line to make it 3-0.
- Conrade led the visiting half of the fifth inning with a triple to center field.
- A walk to Burns followed by a stolen base put runners at second and third.
- A sacrifice fly from Dabbadie plated one run before Dusharme cleared the bases and made the score 6-0 with a home run.
- Molloy's defense held firm in the final three innings, allowing no hits.
