Men's Lacrosse Downs Bridgeport, 13-2

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's lacrosse team had a definitive victory over the University of Bridgeport, 13-2, this afternoon from the Rockville Centre Sports Complex. Molloy improved to an even 3-3 on the season with the win while UB fell to 2-3. 

How it Happened
  • Molloy scored three-straight goals to start the contest off the sticks of juniors Bryan Diliberto and Noah Taylor and senior Mikey Rodin.
  • UB's Matthew Levantini scored on an extra-man opportunity for the Purple Knights midway through the first quarter before senior Jack Herzlinger and sophomore Brandon Pazienza scored to make it 5-1.
  • Diliberto netted his second of the contest paired with goals from sophomore Konrad Maciejny and redshirt freshman Brian Green to set the score at 7-1 at the half.
  • Rodin tallied a man-up goal 15 seconds into the third quarter before Maciejny added his second and Diliberto added his third of the contest to make it 11-1 headed into the final frame.
  • Freshman Nick Papa and junior Tommy Corcoron rounded out Molloy's scoring to end the game.
Top Performances
  • Diliberto matched a career-high five points with three goals and two assists.
  • Herzlinger had four points on one goal and a team-leading three assists.
  • Green (one goal, two assists) and  Maciejny (two goals, one assist) each had three points.
  • Corcoron added an assist to his goal for two points with  Taylor, Pazienza and Papa each tallying a goal.
  • Pazienza went 10-for-15 on face-offs with a team-leading seven ground balls.
  • Taylor, sophomore Eric Schiller, freshman Rocco Hogan each picked up four. Schiller also caused a career-high four turnovers.
  • Junior Christian Michaels made 13 saves in net.
