Rockville Centre, N.Y.- The softball team concluded its 10-game home stand Tuesday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of the University of New Haven, 5-1 and 7-1. The Lions improve to 11-13 (1-1 ECC) and the Chargers fall to 2-12.
Game One: Molloy 5, New Haven 1
How it Happened
- Senior Chrissie Huhn started the home half of the first inning with a single followed by a stolen base.
- Graduate student Steph Conrade's bunt single moved Huhn to third base.
- Freshman Stevie Dabbadie drove in the first run of the game with a ground out to first, bringing home Huhn and moving Conrade into scoring position.
- Junior Cher Dusharme reached on a fielding error, scoring Conrade, to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.
- A fielding error and a double brought New Haven within one in the top of the third inning.
- Graduate student Alex Burns hit a lead off single and stole second to start the bottom of the third inning.
- Freshman Sophia Mariottini reached on an error, allowing Burns to advance home, to put the Lions ahead 3-1.
- The Lions' bats went right to work in the bottom of the fifth with singles from Burns and Dabbadie. A run-scoring fielder's choice from Mariottini and a sacrifice fly from junior Katie Hand extended the Lions lead, 5-1.
- The four-run lead was more than enough for Mariottini, as the freshman shut down the Chargers offense, striking out four of the last six outs of the contest to solidify the victory.

Game Two: Molloy 7, New Haven 1
How it Happened
- Huhn started game two with a lead off walk and a stolen base.
- Burns tripled to right center, driving in Huhn, and was then brought home by Dabbadie's sacrifice fly, to give Molloy an early 2-0 lead.
- Freshman Mariah Cepeda and sophomore Mae Savage hit a pair of singles in the bottom of the second inning.
- Hand doubled to right center bringing in two runs to extend the lead, 4-0.
- A walk to graduate student Emma Bachman and a single for Conrade loaded the bases.
- Burn's double to center field scored three more runs to give the Lions a commanding 7-0 lead at the end of two innings.
- Bella Lagattolla doubled to left center, putting her in scoring position for Allison Murai's single to right center, to put the Chargers on the board, 7-1.
- Junior Natalie Moussa allowed just two more hits to solidify the 7-1 win.
