Rodin Nets Career-High in Men's Lacrosse Win Over Dominican

Rockville Centre, N.Y. - Led by five goals from senior Mikey Rodin, the men's lacrosse team improved to 2-3 on the season following an 11-5 victory over Dominican University this afternoon from the Rockville Centre Sports Complex. The Chargers fell to 0-3 with the loss.

How it Happened
  • Rodin got the Lions on the board quickly, scoring on a feed from sophomore Justin Palulis less than two minutes into the contest.
  • Molloy would score four-straight goals to open the contest, with Rodin adding a second, Palulis finding the back of the net, and junior Bryan Diliberto scoring on a man-up opportunity.
  • The Chargers would net the next three to come within five, but freshman Michael McClain would add one final goal before halftime to set the score at 5-3 in favor of the Lions.
  • Dominican would score first in the third quarter before Palulis, Diliberto, and Rodin each scored to make it 8-4 headed into the final 15 minutes of play.
  • Zachary Souza of Dominican would add his second tally before the Lions closed out the contest with two more goals from Rodin and one from senior Jack Herzlinger. 
Top Performances
  • Rodin's career day finished with seven points on five goals and two assists to go with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
  • Diliberto and Palulis each netted two goals and added one assist for three points each.
  • Herzlinger and McClain each had a goal and an assist.
  • Redshirt freshman Brian Green and juniors Noah Taylor and Tommy Corcoron each had assists. 
  • Sophomore Brandon Pazienza went 12-of-18 on face-offs and picked up a game-high nine ground balls.
  • Sophomore Eric Schiller had seven ground balls while forcing three turnovers. Senior Denver Tveter also had three turnovers while freshman Ralph Perangelo forced two in his first career start.
  • Junior Christian Michaels made 11 saves in the win.
