Baseball Upsets No. 6 Millersville, 6-3

Morehead City, N.C. – On the back of two runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth inning's the Molloy baseball took down the sixth-ranked Marauders of Millersville, 6-3, Saturday afternoon at Big Rock Stadium. The Lions improve to 2-0 on the young campaign, while the Marauders move to 3-2.

How it Happened
  • After two innings of scoreless baseball, Millersville collected a sacrifice fly to go up 1-0 in the top of the third.
  • After a leadoff single by junior JJ DeVito and a double by senior Gavin McAlonie in the bottom of the fourth, the Lions had runners on second and third to set up senior Anthony Manisero. Manisero singled to right field to score the pair of runners to push Molloy in front, 2-1.
  • In the bottom of the fifth, senior Aidan Larkin drove in senior Matt Yip with a single and DeVito scored on a wild pitch to double to increase the Lions lead, 4-1.
  • The cardinal and white continued to apply pressure in the sixth inning. Junior Patrick Sanchez led off the frame with a double and then made noise on the basepath. While attempting to steal third, the junior forced an errant throw and subsequently scored to extend the lead, 5-1.
  • DeVito capped off the inning with an RBI single to give Molloy its largest lead of the contest, 6-1.
