Merrick, N.Y.- The women's tennis team fell to Dominican University this afternoon in a closely contested 4-3 match. With this result, the Lions drop to 1-7 (0-2 ECC), while the Chargers improve to 2-5.

Ashley Bonilla earned a 6-2 win over Preeti Koli and Olivia Lopez. Sophomore
Isabella Fortaleza and freshman
Taylor Gunnip claimed a win by forfeit at #3 doubles.
On the singles side, Sanchez continued strong, defeating Koli in the top spot 6-2, 6-2. Fortaleza battled through a tough three-set match but ultimately fell 6-4, 4-6, 0-6 at #2 singles. Fartushynska fought hard at #3 singles but came up short in a 7-5, 6-1 loss. Gunnip pulled out two games in a 6-0, 6-2 loss in the fifth spot, while Molloy took the #6 singles match by forfeit.
The Lions return to action tomorrow (Oct. 4) at 4:00 p.m. to host the University of the District of Columbia.
