Manchester, N.H.- The field hockey team suffered a 5-0 loss this afternoon to the #10 Saint Anselm Hawks. The loss drops the Lions to a 2-13 overall record (1-10 NE10) while the Hawks improve to 12-4 (9-2 NE10).

How it Happened

• The Lions' defense successfully defended five penalty corners within the first three minutes of play.
• Saint Anselm struck early, netting two goals in the first quarter.
• Maggie Burchill extended the Hawks' lead at the start of the second quarter.
• Laurentien van den Akker and Ruby Reid each scored to give the home team a commanding 5-0 advantage to close out the first half.
• The Lions earned a penalty corner in the third quarter where senior Devin Harkins managed to get a shot off.
• Freshman Kayla Balsamo made three saves in the fourth quarter to hold the deficit at five.
