Seaford, N.Y.- The field hockey team put up a strong fight against the #5 Southern New Hampshire Penmen but came up short, falling  2-0. The Lions drop to 2-11 (1-8 NE10) and the Penmen improve to 12-1 (9-0 NE10).

How it Happened

• Southern New Hampshire's Annemartine Christis scored late in the first quarter, scoring off her own rebound to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
• Sophomore Kayla Lipscomb made four crucial saves in the second quarter, keeping the Lions within one heading into halftime.
• In the 41st minute, Anne Wiersma extended the Penmen's lead to 2-0 with a goal following a corner, assisted by Jade Hendriks.
• The Lions' defense held strong, fending off four corners in just two minutes, with Lipscomb adding five more saves.
• The Lions earned a corner as time expired in the fourth quarter but couldn't convert on the opportunity.
• Lipscomb finished the match with 16 saves in net.
