Rockville Centre, N.Y. - The men's basketball team fell to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College this evening, 99-74, from Quealy Gymnasium. Molloy sits at 4-16 on the season and 2-7 in East Coast Conference play while STAC improves to 16-3 (8-1 ECC). 

How it Happened

• The Spartans took an early 6-0 lead, but layups from junior Matt Lane and a three-pointer from junior Billy Reyes brought the Lions within one, 8-7. 
• The visitors would quicky take a double digit lead, eventually taking a 20-point advantage into the locker room, 56-36. 
• Molloy would come within 25, 99-74, ending the contest with back-to-back jumpers from freshman Manu Alford and redshirt sophomore Sey Dieng. 

Top Performances

• Lane led the Lions with 14 points and four blocks while pulling down six rebounds.
• Reyes netted three three-pointers, helping him to 13 points.
• Dieng netted 11 points to go with five boards and two steals.
• Alford and fellow rookie Bryce Merchant each chipped in 10 points with Merchant leading with seven boards.
• Freshman Rob Matos led with eight helpers.
